Hailing from Tokyo, DayZero brings 3 atmospheric cuts to the WORSHIP dubplate series. Dabbling between the sounds of old-school DMZ, dub techno, and raw drums.
WORSHIP005 opens with the haunting "Uzu" - translating roughly to “Whirlpool” - where tense strings linger above lurking subs.
Vein straddles a strange, heads-down midpoint between percussive minimal and dubstep, with rhythmic tribal drumwork layered onto wonky pitch-riding synths and flashes of vocal snippets.
The digital bonus track, Elements, sees a more natural dubstep sound come to fruition. Deep lows are complemented with wobbling mids and sliced by 10-ton snares, and lethargic breakbeats lurch into the breakdowns.
The digital bonus track code will be emailed to all who purchase the lathe cut.
